There’s a lot with this new site guys, so while it might be a pain, the writeup that Howland made is definitely worth a read. (Linked here for your covenience).
I also recommend that you either sign up with an existing Yahoo ID! (Rogers.com IDs should work, I believe) or create a new user and take a look at the possibilities available to you. By creating or linking an account with SB Nation, it allows us to thread your comments together and allows you to manage threads that you've participated in. It might be head-spinning at first (it was for me) but your level of participation will not go unnoticed!
Commenting in general in our website is monitored. The normal rules apply as we will be looking out for personal attacks and insults. Sarcasm is a part of life (we're Canadian after all) but use emoticons to get your emotions across. You'd be surprised how many people misinterpret text.
Speaking of text, you can also format your comments. By clicking on the "Show Formatting Guide ↓" link next to the "post" button, you can see how to bold, italicize, and strike your text. You can also insert block quotes and links.
We also encourage for you to reply directly to people's train of thought whenever possible. This will help people parse out conversations easier and allow you to have a conversation through our comments section.
Finally, please Digg, link our site to your Twitter or Facebook, and recommend articles by clicking on the REC link under each article. By helping us to promote our site, you're helping to educate the Raptors' fanbase and getting a larger conversation flowing within our website. We love hearing from new and old fans alike, and by helping us to promote the website with just a little bit of your time, it allows us to reach out to new fans who may not have heard of us.
And just a shout out to all our readers that this wasn’t possible without all your participation and talk in the past. We love you guys and we do this largely because we want to give you the best Raptors HQ possible. Send us some comments about the site, about what you enjoy or don’t. Feedback is always important to us.
