Come on, I have to pat myself on the back here since no one else will.... this was my prediction on August 31st:
"October: Starting off with a bang with Cleveland. (1-1)
November: This will be the make or break part to the season with 2 long road trips out west sandwhiched by a cup of coffee at home to da Bulls. Then there’s the two games against the Magic and one with the Celtics. The must win games are vs the Clippers, Bobcats, Heat, Pacers and Pistons. Crossing my fingers huge for a near .500 month. (7-9)"
I predicted an 8-10 record and today we stand at a 7-11 result. If they had taken out the cats, I would have been perfect!! And let me say, it's been a very profitable month with both basketball and the NFL.
So what have been the surprises this year?
1) The development of the bigs. I honestly wasn't sure if Bosh had another level this year, but in the early part he was even better than I could have imagined. However the concern is, this is a bit of dejavu as he had the hot start last year and then faded. Bargnani has picked up his inside game, and I've been pleasantly surprised.
2) Marco "BIG Chucker" Bellinelli. I honestly didn't think he'd find his shot again after everything I read about him.
3) We knew the Defense was going to be bad, but not this bad.
4) We knew the Offense was going to be good, but not this good.
Based on my previous predictions, the Raps really need to go 9-6 for December. The only super tough games this month is @ Hawks this Wednesday and @ Magic Dec 16th (Damn it, I'll be in Orlando that week but can't get to the game -- tickets start at $10!)... every other game is winable. Let's cross our fingers.
