Raptors' Rapid Recap - Toronto 120 - Miami 113

-The shoe was on the other foot for this one as Toronto got up by 20 at the half before allowing Miami to crawl back into it.

-The Raptors shot almost 70% from the field in the first tier, helping to jump out to this lead, but a combination of improved Miami D, Raptor turnovers and Dwyane Wade got the Heat to an almost equal point on the score board before Toronto finally pulled away late.

-Some questions about Jay Triano's rotations will certainly make the rounds post-game as Marco Belinelli and Amir Johnson, both of whom were instrumental in Toronto's big first-half lead, saw few minutes in the second half despite Miami's assault.

-Chris Bosh again led the Raps with 29 points and 12 rebounds but tonight he got big lifts from Andrea Bargnani (24 and 10), Hedo Turkoglu (19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists) and surprisingly, Jarrett Jack, who came off the bench with 17.

-The Heat were led by Wade of course with 30 points, and Mario Chalmers dropped in a career-high 30 as well, including five 3-pointers.

-While the win got Toronto to a game of .500, the Dinos still have a lot of work to do on keeping intensity up for an entire match, something that no doubt will be put to the test Sunday when the Magic are in town.

Doug Smith suggests that Bellineli tweaked his ankle in the third – he did sub off at that point and not return.

If he was hurt than I can understand Jack as the better option than Derozan or Weems (this wasn’t his best night) late in a tight game.

I've been looking at the sky

Not that it’s good news to hear Belinelli tweaked his ankle, but at least there’s an excuse. Otherwise, Triano’s rotation in the 2nd half was a complete joke.

Yeah, I wondered if there was a health issue. Didn’t seem to be the case so who knows – hopefully tomorrow we’ll get more info.

Good win

Got much too close for comfort but still felt we were in control.

Listen, lets not kid ourselfs our defence needs lot of work, but I am a believer in following the system. It will improve,
Our offence on the other hand looks great.

You know we are 6 and 7, with a few tough loses. We have played 8 games on the road against 11 opponents who made the playoffs last season.
I like the make-up of this squad and I like the coaching. I want them to stay the course. I expect the defence to tighten up , yes, it now stinks, but as long as we continue to outscore our competition I ‘ll give it time to get better over time.
Really have liked what I’ve seen, bad D and all, these first 13 games.
