Rumour: CV Smooth to Seattle?

More speculation than a true rumour, but the Star's Doug Smith looks for a trade with Seattle, with the Raps trading CV Smooth and the #1 pick to the Sonics for Luke Ridnour, Ray Allen and the #10 pick.

Verdict: Doubtful. Many pieces would need to be thrown Seattle's way to make it work, cap-wise, and even Smith admits it's doubtful Seattle would pay this high a price to move up to #1.

It simply doesn't make sense. Allen has a contract that will be taking on albatross-like proportions in the next few years, while CV is dirt cheap with his future ahead of him. #1 + Alvin = #3 + Brevin Knight it far more likely, and allows us to get Bargnani and a starting point guard in exchange for a bad contract. If Colangelo can pull that off, I would really be imressed.
