A New C Patrolling the Paint?
Supposedly the Raps have been in talks, or at least making inquiries about the availability of Lorenzen Wright from the Grizz. What would be going the other way? Well for kicks we looked at the salary situations of both teams; in a 2-1 a MoP and Aaron Williams for Wright works under the cap. Could Babcock hoodwink Jerry West like Pat Riley just did? Here's hoping. Wright is leaps and bounds better than what this roster currently has at the 5.

I hope Toronto clears up the c and pg position, i know magloire is coming next year and we have two first rders, but this yr maybe a nightmare.
loren wright would be a steal and if alvin williams can play it would be a blessing.Skip to my Lou better play consistently and not get benched cause
i have no faith in calderon and loren woods was no existent at the end of the year,

lorenzo wright would be cool - especially if magloire comes to town next year. That would be a pretty mean 4 - 5 combo (bosh, magloire) with (villaneuva, wright as backups).
I would still look harder for a better PG instead.

If Magloire were to sign here (and I hope he does) it won't be next year, it will be in 2 years because that's when his contract is up. Unless we can work out a trade with the Hornets before then.
I wouldn't hold my breath on Alvin returning, and even though I was a big fan of his, for the sake of our salary cap I hope he doesn't return and he will retire. Then his salary can come off our cap after a year, and we could possibly use it in a trade scenario as an expiring (think Terrell Brandon).
Jerry West seems to be shedding some cap to get under the luxury tax. If that is the only purpose he might consider trading for Aaron Williams and Lamond Murray. Aaron is a serviceable C much cheaper than Lorenzen, and the Grizz have enough swingmen as it is and I don't think MoPete would get a lot of time there, but Murray has been a 12th man for years now and nobody really hears him if he makes any noise.

I confess to never having felt anything one way or another about Lorenzen Wright. Suddenly he seems like an entirely exciting player who could turn us into contenders for losing in the first round. Or maybe even the second once Ivan Calderon (wasn't he on the White Sox - and didn't he die tragically?) decides to light it up.
That depresses me. I think I'll go get my hair cut like Chris Bosh.
